A bit more about Pat

I started seriously searching for my family tree in 1997 and remember my first visit to the Family Record Centre well because on the way home I stopped at Buckingham Palace to see the floral tributes to the Princess of Wales.

Since the start I have been hooked but with no sense of panic. After all the people I am searching for are not going to get up and move! Hopefully the indexes and records will always be available for us to search, in fact there is more information becoming available all the time thanks to the popularity of genealogy and the accessibility via the internet.

In 2000 I took a round-the-world trip and met relations in Sydney, Australia; Christchurch, NZ and Portland, Oregon, USA. Without my initial research I would not have known where they lived. Now we are in regular touch. Plus I had a very exciting trip to find them and, who knows, may go again one day.

I have been working in a college library for over 15 years, where I have developed my research skills and have a reasonable idea of where to begin a search and how to overcome difficult hurdles ahead, all skills useful for family history research.

It has been a pleasure for me to be able to search back through the records for many friends and acquaintances around the world. Hopefully they will continue the search for themselves and get the same sense of achievement I do.

Testimonials

"I can highly recommend Pat Peryer for genealogical research on your family history. Over three years ago Pat helped me so much in tracing a long lost relative in the London area. This was practically impossible for me to do myself living in Australia. Without Pat's generous help I might never have been in touch with my relative again before she passed away. Pat also discovered where my grandparents were buried in Kent and was so kind as to visit the cemetery and take photographs of their grave. She also took the time to visit the street where they lived in Kent and again take photographs.

Pat is a very knowledgeable person in all aspects of tracing your ancestors and will always do a very professional job."
