If a name of a living individual is submitted to Totalgenealogy.com the persons commissioning the search are responsible for seeking initial permission to provide this name as Totalgenealogy.com can not be held responsible for any incidents that arise as a result of a search. If you provide us with any personal or contact information we respect the purpose for which you gave it to us, and it will be held confidential.

Who performs the searches?

How long will a search take?

As long as it takes (anything from 1 - 2 months).


Who gets to see the results of the search?

Only you and any one you choose to show the results to. Please see the Privacy Policy displayed in the side bar on each page for further information.


What does the search actually involve?

searching through birth, marriage & death indexes, obtaining certificates, searching through census returns, maybe searching wills for more family information. Pre-1837 local parish register searches if feasible locality-wise.


What happens if the search hits a brickwall?

In the case of the unbreachable I will try my best then contact you with regard to renegotiating the cost based on what has been found.

What happens if some members of my family don't want to be bothered by someone searching?

Sometimes I may be required to speak to members of your family, I need your permission for this and as a result before a search can start need signed permission from you (see form (not in existence yet))
