What does it cost?
Service Fee (Fixed)
Research & production of a single line (Paternal or Maternal) Family
tree £125
Research & production of a joint Paternal and Maternal Family Tree
£225
Don't forget to add on the fees for supplying certificates....
Certificate Fees (Variable)
All certificates are charged at cost. Current cost is £7 each as charged
by the Office of National Statistics. Ancestors are traced through their
birth and marriage certificates only. Occasionally death dates are recorded
but not as part of tracing a tree unless it is necessary. You can reasonably
assume that 8 certificates will allow tracing back from your parent's marriage
to your great great grandparents.
A single line family tree should cost you £125 + £56 = £181
A maternal and paternal family tree should cost you £225 + £112
= £337
All figures are approximate. Family history is not an exact science and
brick walls can be encountered. If, however ancestors cannot be traced
back to your great great grandparents then the overall final cost can
be reduced through negotiation based upon the number of hours research
completed and number of certificates supplied.
For other ad hoc research undertaken (e.g. tracing ancestors back pre-1837
via parish registers) cost is £12 per hour. |
